  1. Boil peas, drain and soak nuggets in hot water, drain and squeeze in water 2-3 times.
  2. Add curd and besan and make a lumpfree paste.
  3. Heat up pan add little ghee add asafoetida and let cumin splutter add ginger and chilli paste and saute.
  4. Saute chopped methi then add peas and nuggets and mix.
  5. Now add coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  6. Add curd paste mix for 2-3 mins add water and cook covered for 5-7 mins on low flame.
  7. Make a tempering of ghee and red chilli powder to garnish and serve with roti or paratha

You can use fresh green peas in place, just boil them till they are soft and then add to the dish. Serving suggestion: Serve methi matar malai with roti or paratha or naan. It can be served with basmati rice or jeera rice. Goes best as a side with rice, idli, doa or any other Indian bread.
