The ingredients needed to make Soya Pyaaz Pulao:
  1. Prepare 7-9 Soya Chunks, soaked in water (5-10 minutes)
  2. Get 2 Onions, roughly chopped
  3. Get 1 small size Potato, chopped
  4. Make ready 1 1/2 Tomato, finely chopped
  5. Get 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  6. Take 2-3 garlic cloves, chopped
  7. Get 2-3 tbsp olive oil / any oil
  8. Prepare 1/2 cup Basmati rice, soaked
  9. Get as per taste Salt
  10. Take 1 tsp Kitchen king masala
  11. Take 1/2-1 tsp red chilli powder
  12. Take 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  13. Make ready Pinch Asafoetida/hing
  14. Get 1-2 bay leaves
Steps to make Soya Pyaaz Pulao:
  1. Heat 1 or 2 tbsp of oil in the pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add some chopped onions and sauté them till they turn translucent in colour.
  2. Then add chopped tomatoes and potatoes. Add some salt (as per taste) and soaked soya chunks also. Mix them well. Note - Sprinkle some water if the mixture gets dry.
  3. Add all the masalas, soaked rice. and some water. Now cover it and let the rice cook. (Atleast 2 whistles)
  4. Once done, turn off the flame. Transfer the rice to the serving plate and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with raita or curd.
