Hey everyone, hope you are having an incredible day today. Today, we’re going to make a special dish, homemade sushi. One of my favorites. For mine, I am going to make it a bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Soooooo worth it, if you ask me. These are actually two separate (but equallty delicious) types of rolls, but they're simple enough that Japanese Cooking decided to outline the methods of making them for you all at once. Try making both so you get a bit of the fish and a bit of veggies.

Homemade Sushi is one of the most popular of recent trending meals on earth. It’s easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. Homemade Sushi is something which I have loved my whole life. They are nice and they look fantastic.

To get started with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can cook homemade sushi using 7 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Homemade Sushi:
  1. Get Pack Large Nori Sheets
  2. Get Pack Sushi rice
  3. Make ready 1 roasted sweet potato
  4. Take 1 avocado
  5. Get 1 half cucumber
  6. Get Soy sauce
  7. Prepare Sriracha

Place your fillings neatly in the middle of the rice. When ready, lift the mat and carefully roll it altogether with nori sheet over the fillings. You can't use just any rice for sushi. Sushi rice is a special preparation of rice flavored with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt.

Steps to make Homemade Sushi:
  1. First, the beauty of sushi is you can put whatever you like in. It. I’m vegetarian and usually make sushi after I’ve made a tofu dish, and use the leftover tofu in it! So whatever you have on hand, utilise!
  2. Cook the sushi rice according to package. If possible, make a day ahead! It needs to cool down before you use it. If using on the day, after cooked, spread on cooking sheet and chill for an hour. The key to sushi rice is that it’s sticky. Most groceries sell this.
  3. Cut roasted sweet potato into thin strips. Do the same with avocado and cucumber.
  4. Time to assemble. Use a sushi mat (or if you don’t have one, get a large piece of cling film on counter). And place nori sheet on top.
  5. Get your hands wet and scoop and press down rice to almost fill the sheet. Wet hands ensure the rice doesn’t stick to you. Leave about a half inch of space free at the top.
  6. Place vegetables close to the bottom edge in a row and stack them, like the photo shows.
  7. Lift the edge of the cling film closest to the vegetables while holding the nori and start to roll. You want to hold the ingredients in place while you tightly roll. You can pull the cling film at the end while you roll in to tighten. Continue rolling until the roll is fully complete. (Watch a video online to get a better idea!)
  8. Get a sharp knife and cut into pieces. Serve with soy sauce and sriracha.

It's made from short-grain rice (Japonica), typically made in Japan and parts of California and Italy. With homemade sushi rice, you're aiming for rice that's fluffy and a little sticky but not too sticky. It may seem like a lot to buy at first, but most of the ingredients turn into staples [like sriracha + sesame seeds] and non perishables like nori, sushi rice, and vinegar will last a ridiculously long time in your pantry. The California sushi roll is perfect for those who don't care much for raw fish. The main ingredient is imitation crab sticks (made of cooked Surimi fish meat), and so this sushi roll is easier to make and is safe for pregnant women to enjoy.
