Chilli/Sambal is one of the most favored of current trending foods in the world. It is easy, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. It is appreciated by millions daily. Chilli/Sambal is something that I have loved my entire life. They are fine and they look fantastic.

Sambal Oelek, Goreng, Ikan & more. Fresh Sambal Chili Hot Sauce Usually I prepare my own chilli paste and keep a big batch of chilli paste as is much easier than grind for small batch. The word "sambal" is an Indonesian word referring to a sauce made primarily with chili peppers. "Oelek" (or olek or ulek) refers to a mortar and pestle.

To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few components. You can cook chilli/sambal using 11 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Chilli/Sambal:
  1. Make ready 5 garlics
  2. Take 8 shallots
  3. Take 1-2 pcs kurau salted fish, chopped thinly (oh ya, pls remove the skin and the bones if there is any)
  4. Prepare 200 gr big red chillies - washed, stems and seeds removed
  5. Prepare 10-12 pcs chilli padi. Can use less or more according to ur spicy level - remove the stem, keep the seeds
  6. Prepare 5 cm blue ginger or galangal, smashed
  7. Get 3 pcs bay leaves
  8. Get 1 big ripe tomato, cut to pieces
  9. Make ready Salt, pepper, sugar, knorr chicken cube to taste
  10. Take lime juice from half lime (optional)
  11. Prepare Cooking oil

  3. Put 3 tbsp cooking oil in frying pan, stir fry chopped garlic and shallots till translucent and fragrant. Add the kurau salted fish, stir fry for another 2 mins.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients: chopped chillies, smashed blue ginger, bay leaves, chopped tomato, add little bit water. cook till the chilli & chilli seed soften about 30 mins. Try to flip and stir once in a while to avoid chilli from burning at the bottom. If the chilli still hard and it is too dry, add little bit more water.
  5. Add salt/sugar/pepper to taste. For me i put one knorr cube and bit sugar, salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Once chillies cooked, off the heat, squeeze lime juice.
